It’s been a long time coming and it was indeed a satisfying win for the USA’s Jeneba Tarmoh who came through on Friday at the Diamond League meet in Rome to win the women’s 200 meters race with a time if 22.77 seconds.
Tarmoh who became famous for her tie with Allyson Felix during the USA Track & Field trials for the 2012 Olympic Games has been in the shadows for a while now and have not won a major race in a long time. That came to an end on Friday as she beat a very strong field of World Class runners that included the likes of Kerron Stewart of Jamaica to take the race from start to finish breaking into a smile as her fellow competitors hugged and shook her hands in a congratulatory gesture.
