Favourites suffer shocking away losses

Burkina Faso, South Africa and Tunisia were the biggest casualties of the Day Two matches on Saturday, suffering losses away from home.

 

The trio tasted defeats in encounters much was expected of them as the journey for the places at the final tournament of the 31st edition of the showpiece continental football tournament gathers momentum.

Elsewhere, Tunisia tasted defeat for the first time in the qualifiers after Liberia beat them 1-0 in Monrovia. Striker Francis Doe scored the only on 79 minutes to revive the chances of the Lone Stars.

 

Striker Ferebory Dore was the hero for Congo scoring four times in their 4-2 win over Guinea Bissau at Bissau in Group E. Dore completed his hat-trick on 62 minutes before Zezinho pulled one back for the hosts.

 

Dore restored the three-goal lead on 65 minutes and Zezinho reduced the deficit for the homers on 80 minutes.
