Accra, Ghana, August 12, 2015 - FIVB Instructors Christian Kröger and Johann Huber were in Ghana to lead a Level II Coaches Course in Accra from July 27 through to August 8, attended by 35 volleyball coaches from across the country.
Speaking about the course, Ghana Volleyball Association (GVA) President Paul Atchoe said: "This particular course has come at a good time because it will go a long way to buttress the decentralization exercise which GVA has embarked upon in the last two years. The ten administrative regions in the country at the moment have Regional Volleyball Associations which are reporting and liaising very closely with GVA. These newly formed Level II volleyball coaches will be handed over to their respective regional associations. Their activities will be monitored on a regular basis and, in line with their performances, they will be assigned to the various national teams."
Participant and Somanya Senior High School coach Gabriel Atseku said: "All the participants were very happy to be a part of this course. The instructors demonstrated their mastery of the content of the course through appropriate teaching methods and the availability and application of teaching and learning materials. This enhanced the understanding of the topics.”
University of Ghana coach Henry Nii Sackey said: "I am glad I was selected to join this programme. This course has helped me a lot. It has opened social and friendly doors for me."
