Camara re-elected president of Guinea Football Federation

Outgoing president of the Fédération Guinéenne de Football (FEGUIFOOT), Salifou Camara “Super V”, was re-elected on Friday, with 14 August 2015 with 84 votes against 33 by his challenger, Djibril Diarra “Beckenbauer”.


Four (4) invalid votes were recorded from the electoral body composed of 121 delegates at the elective General Assembly which was supervised on behalf of the Confederation Africaine de Football (CAF) by Roger Ouegnin of Cote d’Ivoire.


There were also election of Vice Presidents and Executive Committee members on the agenda of the meeting, held at the ‘Palais du Peuple’ in Conakry. Amadou Diaby and Zalikatou Diallo were elected Vice presidents, after gaining the highest votes in the contest that involved three persons.

The third candidate, Ibrahima Conte Sorry, was appointed a Special Advisor to the president of the federation. The General Assembly subsequently approved his appointment as an Honorary Vice President of the federation.

 

Twenty (20) candidates vied for the remaining 12 positions on the Executive Committee. Again, the election was conducted in strict compliance with the statutes of the federation and to the satisfaction of all.
