Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Cameroon international Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion, converting one of the summer’s biggest African transfer sagas into confirmed business. United’s official player profile records August 25, 2026 as his signing date and confirms a contract through June 2031, with an option for an additional season. Sky Sports reports the transfer at £65 million guaranteed plus £5 million in add-ons, while Reuters also confirms the completion.
At 22, Baleba joins United as a long-term centerpiece rather than a short-term solution, following 112 appearances for Brighton. His transfer is one of the largest moves involving an African international in this window and gives United a midfield profile built around ball-winning, physicality and progressive carrying. Baleba is currently recovering from an ankle injury but is expected back around mid-September.
