Nottingham Forest have agreed a club-record deal worth up to £50 million for Chelsea striker Liam Delap, according to The Guardian and Sky Sports. The 23-year-old only moved to Chelsea from Ipswich last summer for around £30 million but has struggled to establish himself consistently at Stamford Bridge, opening the door for Forest to move decisively.
The transfer would represent another major investment by Forest after an ambitious window that already included Ivory Coast defender Ousmane Diomande. Importantly, this should currently be classified as club agreement reached rather than officially completed; medical, personal formalities and the final Forest announcement remain to come. At the reported value, Delap would become the most expensive player in Nottingham Forest history.
