Liverpool’s long-running pursuit of Bradley Barcola has taken a meaningful step forward, with Sky Sports reporting further positive talks with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday and growing optimism that an agreement can finally be reached. PSG’s valuation has hovered around £145 million, and the gap between the clubs had been the primary obstacle throughout the summer.
No fee has been agreed and Barcola remains a PSG player, so this is not yet an advanced medical-stage transfer. But the tone of negotiations has shifted materially: Liverpool remain the principal club actively pursuing him and are attempting to add wide attacking depth before the September 1 deadline. Their pursuit also has implications for Gambia international Yankuba Minteh and Senegal teenager Ibrahim Mbaye, both of whom remain Liverpool targets.
