DAZN has agreed to acquire EverPass Media, giving the global sports platform a major foothold in U.S. bars, restaurants, hotels and other commercial venues. EverPass holds the exclusive commercial distribution rights for NFL Sunday Ticket and also distributes programming from the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, MLB, NBA, WNBA, NWSL and NASCAR. Financial terms were not disclosed, but RedBird Capital Partners, the NFL’s 32 Equity and TKO Group Holdings will become minority shareholders in DAZN as part of the transaction.

Commercially, the deal is important because it expands DAZN beyond consumer subscriptions into the highly valuable business-to-business sports-viewing market. Commercial venues generate recurring subscription revenue while also turning live sport into a hospitality and fan-engagement product. For African broadcasters and leagues, the lesson is significant: sports rights can be monetized differently across homes, bars, hotels, airlines and other commercial environments rather than being sold as one undifferentiated broadcast package.
