Coventry City have officially completed the signing of 19-year-old Guinea forward Sidiki Cherif from Fenerbahçe, adding another African player to their increasingly ambitious Premier League squad. Reuters reports that Cherif has signed a long-term contract, with British media placing the transfer fee at approximately £20.5 million.
The move is particularly significant for African football because Coventry have now assembled a notable group of African internationals and diaspora players, including recent Nigeria signing Taiwo Awoniyi. Cherif becomes Coventry’s eighth signing of the summer, highlighting the scale of the club’s investment following promotion to the Premier League.
