Paul Pogba and AS Monaco have mutually agreed to terminate their contract one year early, leaving the former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder available as a free agent. Reuters reports that Pogba’s agreement had been scheduled to run until June 2027, but both sides concluded the project had not achieved its original objectives after a season dominated by physical problems.
The 33-year-old made only six appearances, including one start, during his Monaco comeback and is currently recovering from another thigh problem. His release immediately creates an intriguing free-agent situation involving one of football’s most recognizable midfielders, although there is not yet a sufficiently authoritative report establishing his next destination. Potential interest should therefore be treated separately from the one fact now confirmed: Pogba is officially leaving Monaco and returning to the market as a free agent.
