Blantyre, Malawi,13 June: Zimbabwe on Saturday piped Malawi on its own back yard by 2-1 in the group L of Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifier played at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
The Warriors made their intentions to get maximum points by pinning the Flames in their own half right from the kick off. Cuthbert Malajila put the visitors ahead in the 21 minute capitalizing on defensive lapses in the hosts rearguard.
But Malawi responded two minutes later through Christopher John Banda fierce volley following a superb build up that involved Joseph Kamwendo and Macium Mhone.
The two sides tied 1-1 on the stroke of half time.

In the second half Malawi threw everything to win the game but their efforts failed through as it was Zimbabwe that had serious intentions to get the result.
Their efforts paid off in the 80 minute on counter attack, Khama Billiat outpaced Malawi defenders on left flank,releasing thunderous drive that beat goal custodian Macdonald Harawa.
