Lusaka,Zambia,6 January:Zambia female boxer,Catharine Phiri will in March slug it out with Chile Challenger Caroline Rodrigues in bantamweight category of World Boxing Council (WBC) title fight.
The two pugilist had initially challenged the title holder of the belt Yazim Rivas of Mexico who has opted to fight in superbantamweight against compatriot Jackie Nava.
Rodrigues has registered no loss in all 14 fights under her belt. Phiri who has 10 wins to her name with five knockouts says she is not shaken by her rival credentials arguing her sights are firmly on
clinching the belt.
"I am happy that finally I will fight the WBC main title and I am ready to fight Rodrigues be it Zambia or Chile,"she declared during pressbriefing in Lusaka this early week, Christopher Malunga her manager of Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions has disclosed that the winner between the two will hold the belt
temporaliry if the titleholder sheds weight to defend it.
