Lausanne, Switzerland, November 29, 2017 – “Where’s the beach?” In the 2017/18 beach volleyball season, it could be anywhere as the number of events on the FIVB World Tour has more than doubled.
The new season is aiming to be bigger and better and richer as beach volleyball continues to expand around the world, seeing more places, more players, more passion and more excitement.
There will be three beach volleyball tournaments each in February, March and April before the summer heats up in May, June and July with up to four tournaments in a single weekend, all leading up to the Swatch Beach Volleyball FIVB World Tour Finals in August.
And if you don’t live near a beach, don’t worry. The beach is coming to you. Landlocked cities from Daegu to Moscow to Nanjing will host tournaments. Of course, other events are held in stunning seaside locations such as Monaco, Langkawi and Tokyo, the host of the 2020 Olympics.
So don’t ask, “Where’s the beach?” The beach – and beach volleyball – is everywhere.
