Caretaker coach Eric Tinkler, who has experience having taken over as interim coach following the exit of Roger de Sar, will step into the hot seat once again and his first assignment will be against bitter rivals Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Vlad V joined Pirates in February in what looked a strange appointment, given that despite winning two Telkom Knockout titles in three seasons with Kaizer Chiefs, he had left AmaKhosi in 2012 after failing to capture the league title.

This season Pirates are well off the pace, though there have been mitigating circumstances following the murder of goalkeeper and Captain Senzo Meyiwa in October. The final straw for the coach appeared to have been Tuesday night’s 2-1 defeat at home to Maritzburg United.
