FIVB Instructor Johann Huber and a course participant in the Gambia
Banjul, Gambia, March 17, 2015 - Austrian FIVB Instructor Mr Johann Huber is in the Gambia to lead a VCP Level 1 Coaches Course from March 12-19. The course was opened by Gambian National Olympic Committee President Mr Muhammad Jannah.
Speaking to participants, Mr Marcel Mendy from the Gambian national Sports Council said how important the course was for the development of volleyball in the Gambia, encouraging participants to be pro-active. "Squeeze every possible knowledge out of the instructor. In the future, I want to see many young Johanns instructing our youth," he said.

National Federation President Mr Yunusa Barry added that the Gambia is actively contributing to the African Volleyball Dream by attempting to qualify for the Rio Olympics. The country's beach volleyball teams have progressed to the Zonal round of the Continental Cup, which is a qualifying event for the Olympics in 2016.
