MINSK, Belarus (FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - The USA on Sunday clinched a fourth FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup title after beating France 92-40 in the Final of the competition's 2018 edition.
MINSK, Belarus (FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2018) - The USA on Sunday clinched a fourth FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup title after beating France 92-40 in the Final of the competition's 2018 edition.
Under the watchful eye of FIBA President Horacio Muratore, the winners of the tournament in 2010, 2012 and 2014 set the tone early as they raced out to a 16-2 start and stayed in control to deny the French a first-ever title. The victory also enabled them to sign off on their campaign in the Belarusian capital with a perfect 7-0 mark.
Aliyah Boston top scored with 16 points in a balanced attack as five players hit double figures for USA including Jordan Horston, who had a dozen to go with 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Click here for more.
Australia overcame Hungary to take a 57-51 victory in the 3rd-Place Game. After going scoreless in the first half, Shyla Heal was inspired after the break and finished with 16 points to propel her side onto the third step of the podium.
