
The club’s kit manager, Abubakar Kargbo was one of the survivors of the Ebola virus but after he contracted the virus the team equpiment-jeserys, cone, balls and boots were all burnt for fear of the virus transmission.
It is due to this plight that Radio Rasunda-officials mouthpiece of the Swedish based club (AIK) started a fundraising drive through the clubs supporters to help the club in Sierra Leone.
Already the goal was to collect about 40,000 Swedish kronor (approximately US$5,586) and they have already the received 35 000 kronor.
According to Kargbo, the donation means a lot to the club not only to get the equipment but to also establish connection with the Swedish club.
“This means so very much for us, we hope this will be the start of a long lasting connection with the Swedish club,” Kargbo told SportExpressen.se.
