Liverpool star striker, Luis Suarez, put up a splendid show last night and was deservedly awarded with two goals that knocked England out of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

But it was Suarez who broke the 1-1 deadlock when he scored in the 85th minute and was taken from the field on a big orange stretcher after apparently getting injured in a nasty tussle for the ball. Suarez proved his point after England manager Roy Hodgson had earlier stated that he wasn’t “world class” and couldn’t be considered an all time great because he hadn’t done anything at World Cup level.
Meanwhile, Ivory Coast now need to win their final group match against Greece next week after they succumbed to a 2-1 loss at the hands of Colombia. The Elephants seemed lost without aging striker Didier Drogba and it still boogles the mind as to why the talismanic former captain is being kept on the bench.
Roma striker Gervinho scored the priceless face saver for the Ivorians. Japan could only manage a 0-0 draw against ten men Greece.
