Sierra Leone youngster, Prince Barrie scored his first goal for Ghanaian Side Inter Allies in a 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak in a pre-season friendly at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Barrie’s goal on Sunday prompted reaction from his agent, Chernor Musa Jalloh who said the move to Ghana was the right step for the player’s development.
He said: “It was the right step for his development considering the fact we have no effective league in Sierra Leone at the moment. You can recall several clubs; AIK in Sweden and Seattle Sounders in the U.S Major League Soccer invited him for trials but we think sending him on loan to Ghana for development is very good and will help him focus on his game.”
Another player who hit the target over the weekend in a friendly tie was Alhassan ‘Crespo’ Kamara who came off the bench to help Orebro secure a 4-2 victory over Djurgarden. The match was the striker’s first official game since he recovered from a foot injury that ruled him out of the entire 2015 league season.
In England, Alie Sesay who joined Barnet this January on loan from Premier League club Leicester City came off the bench at the half-hour mark in their goalless draw against Stevenage in the English League second division.
