Sierra Leone’s parliament on Thursday June 4th 2015 ratified the international convention against doping in sports which will allow Sierra Leoneans athletes like others round the World to undergo routine testing.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in a meeting in Paris, from 3rd to 21st October 2005 adopted the resolution to promote the prevention of and use of doping in sport, with a view to eliminate it.
In his presentation before the ratification, the Minister of Sports, Paul Kamara said the government has made huge investments in sports and that 175 countries have already ratified the convention with Sierra Leone amongst seven who were lagging behind in the ratification of the convention.
