The Bafana Bafana international who has 13 caps, has been rewarded for his good form and unwavering commitment to the club.
Serero made 40 appearances for Ajax in all competitions last season, scoring five goals in the process, including a memorable opener in the 2-1 UEFA Champions League victory over Barcelona.

Serero was booted out of the Bafana Bafana camp ahead of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Botswana in September after supposedly telling the team doctor that he didn’t want to risk an injury ahead of Ajax’s crucial match against Barcelona.
If Serero see’s out the contract at the Dutch club, he will become their longest serving South African player after former Bafana star Steven Pienaar, who ply’s his trade for Everton.
Meanwhile, another Bafana star on the move is Kagiso Dikgacoi who joined Cardiff City from Crystal Palace.
A former Fulham player, Dikgacoi vowed to help Cardiff regain their Premier League status next season and he is positive that the club can achieve this.
