As the 2014 FIFA World Cup heats up, clubs are busy beefing up their squads for the upcoming season by being active on the transfer market. A number of deals have been penned with one of the most high profile being Spaniard Diego Costa’s move from La Liga champions Atletico Madrid to Chelsea.
But South African players are also hoping to be part of that transfer frenzy with the latest being Supersport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams who will travel to Germany for a trial with Bundesliga side Schalke 04.
The impressive shot stopper will spend a week in Germany where he will undergo a week long training session with the ambitious side. Williams had a fantastic 2013/ 14 domestic season which culminated in call up to the Bafana Bafana squad.
