
The event which will take place from November 28th – December 1st 2018 at the Basketball Courts of the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown, Sierra Leone will feature sixteen 3x3 Basketball Teams who will battle for supremacy in the now very popular format of the basketball game (the 3x3 System of play).
Most important will be the underlying message of prevention from contracting the HIV/AIDS Virus and also how to live with it for those who may have contracted it and know their status.
However, of the utmost importance will be, educating the public and those already infected to learn to live side by side STIGMA Free.
Sports is a Universal language that transcends any barrier known to man and the most effective vehicle for communicating messages of great importance in society that enhances harmonious and peaceful living.
HOOPFEST Africa has also successfully partnered with GRAND (GrassRoots Action for National Development) and YouthBuild Sierra Leone as additional stakeholders in delivering a strong and vibrant message about the clear and present danger about the menace of HIV/AIDS infection.
We emphasize getting tested and knowing your Status so that you can Live free of HIV/AIDS or live a responsible and productive life if you are already infected by seeking and staying in treatment till you overcome the disease.
