The FIFA President has expressed his "deepest and most heartfelt condolences" to the Kenyan football community after the "terrible attack" at Garissa University last week. In a letter written to Kenyan Football Federation President Sam Nyamweya, Joseph. S Blatter conveyed the condolences of the global football family following the "terrible attack on defenceless young and promising University students in Garissa, Kenya last week.
He wrote: "Our hearts are heavy with sympathy. We share in the grief and express our solidarity and support with the Kenyan people. We pray for comfort and the quick recovery for the injured.
"As you informed me at the CAF Congress in Cairo this week, among the very many victims were young football players whose lives were cut so tragically short," Blatter, who recently met with President Nyamweya, wrote.
He wrote: "Our hearts are heavy with sympathy. We share in the grief and express our solidarity and support with the Kenyan people. We pray for comfort and the quick recovery for the injured.

President Blatter concluded his letter to President Nyamweya, writing: "I call on the global football community, and together we call on humanity, to embrace the unifying values and the spirit of the beautiful game to foster peace, mutual respect, tolerance and peaceful coexistence."
