Goals from Teko Modise and Themba Zwane saw the Brazilians safely in to the semi-finals of the competition, but it was the performance of official Robert Smith that caught Mosimane's eye.
"We also have to congratulate the ref, the truth of the matter is he was on the game," said Mosimane.
"I haven't seen Smith play so well for a long time. He showed he is a very good ref. You think we are saying this because we won, but he was very good today.
The reaction comes just days after the former Bafana Bafana coach blasted the officials in the club's 1-1 draw against the same opponents in the Premiership.
In that fixture, Bongani Zungu thought he'd scored the winner in injury time only for the goal to be ruled out.
Mosimane was pleased this game remained incident free and praised his side for dominating from the outset.
"From the minute we started to the last minute there was no difference. We were dominant and offensive," he added.
"We know we have the personnel to win the game and once you play patient and build-up, you saw it against Platinum Stars in Rustenburg, it's no luck.
"I have to congratulate the Black Aces coach, they always give us problems.
"Ngoma on the left and right, Mbesuma is a top player, he holds the ball, we have to make sure Alje covers him well.
"I am happy that we did what we are supposed to do and there is no drama. When there is no drama and everything is okay you see Sundowns come out."
