
The United Kingdom based Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) has again supported Sierra Leone cricket with huge amount of cricket equipment for the country’s national, clubs and school teams.
According the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) management team, they are pleased to receive news from their UK based partner who have always been supportive in donating cricket equipment to the country.
“This will bolster the executive management committee's preparation for the ICC-Africa World Cricket League Division (1) tournament which is slated for April 2017, the 2016 -2017 national cricket league season and the ICC-Africa mass cricket participation event at junior level,” Samura said.
He also thanked the management of MCC particularly Conor Quirke and Tarah Cunynghame who are both of at the MCC cricket Academy.
Meanwhile, the said equipment would be collected later this month by the Chairman of the Board of Directors for SLCA on behalf of the Association.
This is not the first time such donation has been made to SLCA by the MCC, in November 2011, the UK based club donated cricket nets and artificial flooring to the Sierra Leone Association.
The MCC which is founded in 1787 is the world’s most famous and active cricket playing club. As well as fulfilling over 500 fixtures every year, in the UK and overseas, it also owns and maintains Lord’s Cricket Ground. MCC plays an important role in the development of cricket worldwide.
