Chawinga 18, a striker, joined the Swedish club in May this year, but has so far netted 36 goals in 17 game appearances for her club with her nearest opponent on goal tally at 24.
Over the weekend (last Saturday), Chawinga had a sterling performance in which her club steamrolled Ljusdals 12-1 and she banged seven goals to set her poised for a Golden Boot Award.
Her scoring form has reportedly attracted interest from a top Swedish female soccer outfit Damallsvenskan which has invited her to undergo trials next month.
Chawinga expressed satisfaction with her current performance and was optimistic that she might land a lucrative deal from one of prominent soccer outfits in Sweden.
Meanwhile, her individual performance has prompted her club Krokom/Dvarsatts IF to consider the prospect of signing another talent from her former local club DD Sunshine, defender Chimwemwe Madise.
However, Anders Funseth, Dvarsatts IF’s head of women football was evasive to comment on in an interview with a local daily on Chawinga’s trials next month and the clubs interest in Madise.
“We cannot confirm anything regarding Tabitha. It is true that we are interested in a defender from DD Sunshine, but nothing is clear,” Funseth was quoted by a local online daily as saying.
Despite her star-studded performance her club has only a game to wrap up the current season and is to finish on the fourth position and has no prospects of getting promotion into second tier league.
