NEW YORK (February 24, 2015) – In advance of the 2015 MLS season, Major League Soccer today announced its third annual Jersey Week. This concept, which will come to life in MLS markets across the United States and Canada, celebrates the art, detail and nuance behind every club’s jersey and the passion that supporters have for their club.
Jersey Week will take place February 28 – March 7, 2015. There will be local events where each MLS club will unveil at least one new primary or secondary jersey.
Over the course of Jersey Week, MLS clubs will share the story behind the making of their new jersey with their supporters and will focus on the art and detail that went into the collaborative process with adidas, MLS’ exclusive uniform supplier.
All twenty MLS clubs will unveil at least one new shirt in 2015, including New York City FC and Orlando City SC, MLS’ two expansion clubs.
“We have built a platform where our Clubs can collectively unveil their new jerseys,” said Maribeth Towers, Senior Vice President, Consumer Products, MLS. “The feedback that we’ve received from our fans has been tremendous and we’re seeing significant growth year-over-year.”
There will be Jersey Week coverage on MLSsoccer.com and a social media campaign using the #JerseyWeek hashtag.
MLS clubs will announce additional details on their local events in the coming days.
