Readers of the African Sports Monthly online publication (website), magazine and followers on social media voted for Hamilton as their top choice.
The Athlete of the Month (AOTM) Award is a monthly achievement recognition award to the most outstanding and Africans and athletes of African ancestry who performed exceptionally well in the month under review.
Nominees for the award are nominated by a Selection and Ratification comprising experienced and seasoned sports analysts, journalists and enthusiasts.
The AOTM Award is an initiative of African Sports Monthly publication to celebrate the Africanism of our athletes and recognise the contributions of these athletes on and off their sporting arenas.
The Award is currently requiring corporate sponsorship for the prize money attached to winning.
The prize money is donated by the winner to any African charity of their choice for the development and promotion of sports.
