The Hawks are claiming that reports of an imminent arrest of a new suspect in the Senzo Meyiwe murder investigation are false.
On Saturday the The Sunday Independent reported that police had identified a suspect in Meyiwe’s 2014 murder. Myiwe was shot and killed at the house of his girlfriend, Kelly Khumalo.
“I know nothing of an arrest or any development in the case,” Hawks spokesperson Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
“We do not deal with newspaper reports. It is our obligation to stay in touch with the family and we have done that.”
