The fight was seen by many as anti climatic given the hype generated for the bout which lived up to its expectations as far as Pay-Per-View revenues and other deals go and the Pay Day for the two athletes in question. Outside of the ‘money’ the fight though a beautiful display of boxing skills by Floyd Mayweather was not as competitive as most had thought it would have been. There were no knock downs or near knock downs to generate the buzz that fans were looking for and al of that is thanks to tactician Floyd Mayweather who proved why he is the best pound for pound boxer of all time. Touted for his excellent defensive skills he managed many Pacquiao’s flurries well, hitting out with counter punches as he extricated himself from the ropes to demonstrate his excellent jabs over and over again.
The fight is over with and the post fight analysis will continue for a while till the next big fight. Given the performance of both Mayweather and Pacquiao a rematch is likely impossible given the fat that Mayweather has announced his likely retirement from Boxing after a potential last fight in September of this year and even if there would have been a rematch the money collected will never even be close to a quarter of what was collected on May 2nd.
