Sierra Leone Crickets Association (SLCA) on Monday unveiled the new national team kits for the upcoming ICC African Twenty20 World Division II tournament which will kick off on April 15-20 in South Africa.
SLCA Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Francis Trevor Samura said they were able to secure two sets of jerseys which cost a total of £1064.
The costs of securing those kits were undertaken by the association with no support from government.
Captain of the national team, Lansana Lamin said: “At every stage, the meaning of wearing a Sierra Leone jersey changes. When you are the senior player, you have everyone on your shoulders and you can’t let them down.”
“Wearing the kit, going out there and playing for my country – it’s an overwhelming feeling, which is almost impossible to express in words. But whenever I wear the kit, I believe I’m a hero and we want to make the country proud in these new jerseys.”
