Eight weeks ahead of this year's Kitesurf Cup Sylt the preparations for the event have entered their final stage with a particularly unusual event. On 25th of April, pro kitesurfer Anne Valvatne compets against professional Mercedes-AMG DTM race driver Maximilian Götz in a special race on the most northern island of Germany, Sylt. The special thing about that race: both contestants have to race the roundabout 3.5 km long course only by using their brain and, above all, their very own muscle strength.
Kitesurf Cup Sylt 2016 marks the overall 14th edition of the event and takes place from 28 June to 3 July 2016 in Westerland/Sylt. For the first time ever, the event sees a new team challenge: up to twelve teams of two riders each are going to compete directly against each other in the disciplines “Wind Slalom”, “Best Trick” and “Big Air”. A total prize money of 10,000 Euro is going to be awarded.
