
Praia, Cape Verde, April 17, 2015 – Primary and secondary school physical education teachers in the Cape Verde Islands have been improving their volleyball coaching skills following an FIVB-run course held from April 5-9.
FIVB instructor Rui Jorge Carvalho led the course that means primary school teachers will be better prepared to introduce children to volleyball from the ages of six to 12 and that senior school teachers than can build and develop those basic skills from the ages of 12 to 18.
The participants came from across the nine inhabited 15 islands and the aim is that as the standard of volleyball increases the greater of investment in the sport will follow and so allow greater competition between the schools.
