Will Manchester City be able to stop this super Barça?
Barcelona are currently going through a fantastic moment with five consecutive wins on the same respective amount of matches. The Catalan side are at the top of La Liga’s table and are on the final of the Copa del Rey, something that is certainly working as an important motivation element for a team that has already experienced some less impressive moments this season. After winning 2-1 at Etihad Stadium on the first-leg match, Barcelona embarked on an excellent streak of wins, something that served to restore the confidence that had been lost following their painful home defeat against Málaga almost one month ago.
As for Manchester City, the current English champions are definitely not having the time of their lives as they have lost three of their last five official matches. Their home defeat against the Catalan team opened some deep breaches in the Citizens’ apparently fragile structure and, ever since then, they have already lost twice in just two weeks’ time.
After sucumbing at the hands of Liverpool and a somehow less impressive win over Leicester, Manchester City have lost again last weekend, this time at the expenses of a relegation threatened Burley at Turf Moor.
The Citizens’ head coach, Manuel Pellegrini, has a Herculean task on his hands and if we have in mind his team’s recent recent performances, it is not very likely that they will manage to turn their next Wednesday’s match at Camp Nou into something positive.
