Trail - Trailrun - CrossingOfTheAlps - FischenImAllgäu - Germany

For some the race over the Alps will be an once-in-a-lifetime adventure, for others it's a great athletic challenge, a sort of Tour de France for trail runners. Most of the runners cherish the social component of running in two-person teams that build a strong bond over the seven days of the run. The race starts in the German town Fischen in the Allgäu on September 3rd and concludes on September 9th in the Italian village of Solda in the Ortler Mountains. The distance in-between is a total of 263.7 kilometres with a total ascent of 15,463 meters, and there will naturally be plenty of sweat and tears to go around from the participants of the 300 international teams who will attempt to rise to the challenge of taking on the newly improved west route, which includes spectacular new features.
