July 29, 2022: Shelbourne Football Club is today delighted to announce the signing of one of the most decorated players in world football, Heather O’Reilly.
The USA International has won 231 caps for her country, and is the 10th most capped player of all time. O’Reilly has won three Olympic gold medals and won the FIFA Women’s World Cup with her country.
O’Reilly has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep her at Shelbourne FC until the end of the 2022 season. The 37-year-old will link up with Noel King’s reigning Women’s National League Champions, and is available for selection.

Five swimmers representing Ghana at the 2022 Commonwealth Games

Ghana will be represented by five budding swimmers at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
They are Nubia Adjei, Unilez Takyi, Zaira Forson, Kow Jackson and Abeku Jackson.
According to Farida Idriss, a Technical Office of the Ghana Swimming Association, the young swimmers have gained some experience from the CANA Zone 2 Championships, while the Olympic Games had been a useful experience for them.

Nigeria, one of the most populous nations in Africa made her presence felt on the last day of the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Oregon USA.

The super star of the day was Tobi Amusan who broke the world female 110m hurdles record and set a new 12:12 seconds. She had earlier ran 12:06 seconds, which was doubted.

Coming fourth at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, she blasted and made herself, family and nation proud as the Nigerian flag was raised and the National Anthem played.

She put the icing on the cake when she collected $100,000 for her world record breaking achievement. Only three athletes broke world records but there were amazing and fascinating performances. Every winner took home $80,000.

The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has announced a new Safeguarding Policy - the most comprehensive in the history of the Movement - as well as an updated Human Rights Policy Statement to coincide with the 10th Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting in Birmingham today.

The new Safeguarding Policy is the result of in-depth consultation amongst multiple stakeholders and comes as a CGF Safeguarding Panel is put in place for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
