ANTANANARIVO (FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2018) - 4 men's teams and 3 women's teams will stamp their tickets to the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2018 at the Madagascar qualifier in Antananarivo on July 28-29, 2018.

Madagascar will host their first-ever FIBA 3x3 official competition this weekend with the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup Qualifier, an event that will see how 4 men's teams and 3 women's teams qualify to the FIBA 3x3 Africa Cup 2018, that will be hosted in Lomé, Togo, on November 9-11.

Tokyo '20 to experience driverless cars

Athletes at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo will be able to travel in driverless electric vehicles.

Toyota Motor Corporation, the Japanese automotive manufacturer, has revealed that its e-Palette cars will transport competitors through the athletes’ village at the Games. The cuboid-shaped battery-powered vehicle, which was unveiled conceptually in January, does not have a driver’s seat.

NEW YORK – (July 27, 2018) MLS WORKS and ESPN announced the full rosters for the 2018 Special Olympics Unified Sports All-Star soccer match at halftime of ESPN’s broadcast of Major League Soccer’s regular season matchup between Orlando City SC and NYCFC on Thursday night. The All-Star Soccer Match will take place on Tuesday, July 31 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground, home of Atlanta United, at 6 p.m. ET, one day before the 2018 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target.

SA Rugby provides for greater female representation

The South African Rugby Union on Friday updated its constitution to make specific provision for the addition of a female representative to its delegation to meetings of World Rugby, the sport’s global governing body.

The new constitutional requirement stipulates that at least one of SA Rugby’s three representatives at World Rugby meetings shall be a woman. The change brings SA Rugby in line with World Rugby’s constitution which extended national union representation to three members – one of which had to be female.

MTN Ghana’s Initial Public Offer Closes On 31st July, 2018

MTN Ghana’s Initial Share Offer (IPO) which was launched on May 29th, 2018 to sell 4,637,394,533 ordinary shares, representing 35% of MTN Ghana (Scancom PLC) is scheduled to end at 5:00pm on July 31st 2018. As per the IPO Prospectus, the minimum number of shares to be sold for the IPO to be successful is 463,739,453, representing ten percent (10%) of the total number of shares on offer.

Sierra Leone won its first Junior African Games medal on its debut in the ongoing African Youth Games in Algeria.

Female Wrestlers, Massah Jalloh, a 69kg Freestyle Wrestler secured the country’s first and only medal in the Games as she scooped a Bronze Medal in her category.

Morocco to host 2019 African Games

Morocco has stepped in as the new host of the 2019 African Games after Equatorial Guinea withdrew from hosting the multi-sport event.

Morocco’s Ministry of Sports and Youth confirmed that the country will stage the 12th edition of the gathering in October of next year after being asked by the country’s National Olympic Committee and African Union (AU).

Morocco left the AU in 1984 but was readmitted in 2017, with the country lined up to return to participate at the event for the first time in 41 years in 2019.

World Rugby partners with Turnstile

The partnership with the company, which was only founded in February and was launched by Gemba Group, covers the Women’s Rugby World Cup coming up in 2021 and the subsequent Men’s Rugby World Cup in 2023.

Premier League soccer club Arsenal has announced a new global partnership with technology company Acronis.

Under the terms of the three-year agreement, announced in Singapore during the Gunners’ ongoing pre-season tour, the firm becomes the top-flight English soccer side’s official data backup partner.

Acronis, which offers data protection and cloud storage services, will be tasked with storing Arsenal’s data securely, including footage of every first-team and academy training session.

All Set For 9th African Armwrestling Championship In Accra, Ghana

The Hathiramani Sports Hall will be the action spot this weekend as the 9th African Armwrestling Championship takes off from Thursday 26th July to Sunday 29th July, 2018.

10 countries are expected to participate in the championship which has medals at stake as well as bragging rights.
Already officials from the World Armwrestling body and African Armwrestling Federation are in Ghana for the event, and they called on the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Ben Nunoo Mensah and his vice Paul Atchoe.
