Audi to remain League’s Official Automotive Partner; first presenting sponsor of the MLS Cup
2023 marks debut of Audi Goals Drive Progress Impact Award presented by MLS WORKS, recognizing charitable work by players in their communities NEW YORK (Tuesday, February 21, 2023) – Major League Soccer and Audi of America announced today a multi-year extension of their partnership. As part of the new agreement, Audi will remain the League’s Official Automotive Partner, Title Sponsor of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and Presenting Sponsor of the MLS Golden Boot Award honoring the League’s leading scorer each season. Audi will also be the first Presenting Sponsor of the MLS Cup. 
42% of candidates involved in MLS ADVANCE have been hired by MLS clubs in sporting positions

Turkish Club Hatayspor has paid a heartfelt tribute to their player Christian Atsu, who has passed on, at age 31.
The Ghanaian international body was found under the rubble at his apartment on Saturday morning, after the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, 2023. The former Chelsea player could not be found after the incident.

The Senegalese capital has been chosen to welcome the African colleagues for the AIPS Africa Congress
DAKAR, Senegal, February 20, 2023/ -- Dakar will be hosting International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Africa (http://AIPSAfrica.com/) Congress from February 22-25, 2023. It is during a ceremony broadcasted live on television that the ANPS president Abdoulaye Thiam has made the announcement. The Senegalese capital has been chosen to welcome the African colleagues for the AIPS Africa Congress. A joy and a pride Thiam and his team who spare no effort for the success of this event. “We are working hard to give the best journey ever to our African colleagues here in Dakar. We want this congress to be memorable”, Abdoulaye said. 
The impasse between the African Union (AU), Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) and Association of African Sports Confederations (AASC) was amicably resolved on Sunday 19th February, 2023, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa.
The resolution of the impasse was facilitated by Ghana's President H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo and H.E. Moussa Faki Mahamat, the Chairperson of AU, who sat through the entire resolution process.

As it turns out, the result of that is those athletes becoming the best the world has ever seen, specifically when it comes to the men’s shot put and the women’s indoor 400m. On Saturday (18), in an exhibition event at the Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, USA's Ryan Crouser threw 23.38m* for an outright men’s world shot put record.

Lausanne, Switzerland - The International Boxing Association (IBA) has announced its approved Olympic Qualification System (OQS) for athletes to compete at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
With less than 18 months to Paris 2024 and numerous delays on a clear International Olympic Committee (IOC) process being announced for Paris 2024 qualification, the IBA has taken upon itself as the international governing body of boxing to provide a clear process and pathway for its athletes to qualify for Paris 2024. The IBA OQS decision was unanimously taken by National Federations at the IBA Ordinary Congress in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The IBA reiterates its commitment to providing clarity for its athletes, coaches, and technical officials as they prepare for the biggest celebration of boxing in 2024. |
