Former Watford and Sierra Leone international midfielder, Alhassan Bangura has joined English National League South a six tier league- side St. Albans City.
Speaking on the club’s website, manager Harry Wheeler said: “Al is another good addition to the group. He’s experienced, very professional and gives us something different.
“He also has a desire to go back in to the professional game and push on so we have no doubt he will give everything to be at his best for the cause whilst he’s with us.”
Bangura move to St. Albans City comes after Saints lost 4-1 to Oxford City on Saturday to leave them at the foot of the league table and it is an effort by the club to strengthen their squad.
The defensive midfielder made 62 appearances in his four years spell at the Vicarage Road with Watford and scored a goal. He then went on to represent Brighton, Blackpool and Qabala respectively before joining Forest Green Rovers where he made 83 appearances.
The 28-year-old last played for Coventry City on a short-term deal but chose to retire from football after his deal was not renewed.
