Cairo, Egypt, March 21, 2016 – Libyan champions Ahly Beni Ghazi are making their final preparations for the 2016 African Men’s Club Championship, which will start on March 23 at the Cairo Stadium Complex.
The Libyan team had a long training camp in Cairo since March 3, and will be the first team to arrive in the competition. In this three-week programme, the Libyan champions won all four matches against Zohour, Tayaran and Egyptian side Shams in straight sets, while they subdued Eastern Company in the tie-breaker.
Ahly Beni Ghazi are on the hunt for their first continental title, showing off a solid experience of 10 title victories, three local cup titles and two super cup titles.
The African Club Championship features 24 teams that will vie for the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship ticket from March 23 to April 1.
