Niamey, Niger, January 13, 2015 – The African Dream Project is moving ahead in Niger, where a ceremony organised by the Volleyball Federation of Niger (FENIVOLLEY) was held to launch new development centres in the country. The event was attended by Ministry of Youth and Sport representative Mr Harouna Dan Tonka and Niger National Olympic Committee (COSNI) President Mr Idé Issaka.
The African Dream Project helps to provide a structure for the development of volleyball and focuses on different target groups, including young and more confirmed players. It will also help to improve the identification and development of talented players in Niger, which in the long term will have a positive impact on the country’s results at a regional and continental level.

In more general terms, the African Dream project aims to improve how African teams perform at a global level. It sets out to identify talented young players and provide them with a four-year plan to develop their technical and tactical skills at Development Centres across participating countries. The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) and FIVB provide technical and financial support.
