Lusaka, Zambia, January 18: A brazing row has erupted in Zambia involving two Zambian Super League soccer power houses; Nkana Red Devils and Power Dynamos over international defender Christopher
Munthali.
"Munthali has another full year at the club. His contract goes up to 31 st December 2016.So he is not going anywhere,” declared Power Secretary Ricky Mamfunda.
But Nkana President Everisto Kabila has claimed Munthali was signed legally as he is a free agent.
" His contract with power has run out and he is a free agent. So we signed him on a three-year deal.
"We agreed before he left for the national team [duty in Rwanda for CHAN tournament]," said Kabila.
Nonetheless, Mamfunda is still adamant that the player is theirs. "May be(Munthali) has another contract with Nkana but with us, it hasn't expired,” he said.
