
The three days competition which will run from December 28th to 30th at the Siaka Steven Stadium swimming venue will attracts over 50 swimmers across the country to battle for supremacy in different categories.
General Secretary of SLSDWA, Mohamed Abdul Turay said the tournament will also be a time trails for swimmers who could possibly represent the country in next year’s Olympic Games in Rio.
“For us it is a great opportunity to work with a major media partner like SWASAL towards the development of the sport and give our discipline the deserved publicity it needs in the country. This partnership with SWASAL will not only stop here but also as an association we will work with SWASAL to improve the knowledge of the sports journalist in the reportage of swimming,” the SLSDWA scribe said.
The Dr. KK Bangura Memorial Swimming championship will be the first ever swimming championship the association will host since Sierra Leone was declared free from Ebola.
