The IAAF would like to wish everyone in the global athletics family a merry Christmas and a very happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year!
We thank you all for supporting our sport in 2015, a memorable 12 months of competition with the highlight being the IAAF World Championships Beijing 2015.
The year also saw the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China, and the IAAF World Youth Championships in Cali, Colombia, as well as the second edition of the IAAF World Relays in Nassau, The Bahamas.

The year also saw the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Guiyang, China, and the IAAF World Youth Championships in Cali, Colombia, as well as the second edition of the IAAF World Relays in Nassau, The Bahamas.
Next year, 2016, will see another four IAAF World Athletics Series events and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games; as well as the various IAAF circuits headed by the IAAF Diamond League.
The IAAF offices in Monaco will be closed from the end of business on Friday 18 December 2015 and reopen again on Monday 4 January 2015 but we will continue to update theIAAF website throughout the festive period, except on 25 December.
As has become the annual tradition, the IAAF will be publishing its end-of-the-year reviews on the IAAF website.
The 2015 series, which is composed of 10 event category reviews, will begin on Monday (22).
The authors once again are the renowned statisticians Mirko Jalava (FIN) and A Lennart Julin (SWE), with the race walk reviews provided by Paul Warburton (GBR).
We begin with a look at the race walks (21 December) followed by the relays (Tue 22), the combined events (Wed 23) and throws (Thu 24).
After the Christmas Day break, the only day in the year when the IAAF website is not updated, the reviews continue with the jumps (Sat 26), hurdles (Sun 27), road running (Mon 28), long distance (Tue 29), middle distances (Wed 30), and the series concludes with the sprints (Thu 31).
The event category reviews will then be followed with a look back at the 2015 IAAF World Challenge and the 2015 IAAF Diamond League.
