Head coach Andre Casa Mbungo is optimistic his charges are fired up for the tough test against their hosts, as they departed for Congo on Wednesday night.
Mbungo expects Vita Club Mokanda to provide a tough opposition at their backyard, but remains upbeat their chances.
“My mission is to win this game that will put us in good position of eliminating Vita Club Mokanda. We have a set of players ready for the task; we will try to take this game seriously and hope to get better results,” Mbungo said ahead of his team’s departure.
“Our target is to make it to the next round so we shall give our best in this first leg. It will not be easy because Vita Club Mokanda is a very physical side but we shall give the game 100 per cent.
“Because it is an away match, the best way is to play attacking football with consciousness which means when you lose the ball, you should defend a lot to avoid conceding”, said Mbungo.
The return leg will be held on Saturday, 19 March 2016 in Kigali.
Police edged South Sudanese side Atlabara 4-3 on aggregate at the prelims whilst Vita ejected Nigeria’s Akwa United 6-5 on penalties at the same stage.
