
The first leg held in Kigali a fortnight ago ended one-all and Kayiranga is banging on the inclusion of the duo to turn things around and secure a place at the next round of the qualifiers for the 20th edition of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, Zambia 2017.
“Uganda offers a tricky test but we have to maintain our consistency and winning mentality in the return leg. Uganda is a good side which has vast experienced players. We equally have a good group of talented players who are hungry for success and the match will leave a positive impact on my team,” former Rayon Sports and Amavubi player said.
“We have our strength and I’m optimistic of staging an impressive performance in the second leg. We have continued the preparations after the first leg and we believe we will have competitiveness in the second leg,” Kayiranga said.
During the first leg, Blaise Itangishaka scored a 17th minute opener for Rwanda before Edrisa Lubega equalized for Uganda in the 34th minute.
The winner will face Egypt at the second round of the qualifiers.
Seven teams will emerge from the qualifiers to join hosts Zambia for the tournament scheduled for 26 February to 12 March 2017.
In other matches, North African duo, Algeria and Tunisia face tricky away ties against Mauritania and Niger in Nouakchott and Niamey respectively.
Botswana are set to complete a double over Zimbabwe in Lobatse with Namibia and Swaziland squaring off in Windhoek and Mauritius against Mozambique in Curepipe.
In Banjul, Gambia have a two-goal deficit to overcome against Sierra Leone and Somalia hosting Ethiopia in Djibouti.
