Sierra Leone international midfielder, Rodney Strasser has joined Croatian second tier league side, NK Zagreb on loan from Italian Serie A club Genoa.
NK Zagreb who were relegated from the 2015/16 Croatian First Football League (the MAXtv Prva Liga) season are undergoing a massive recruitment drive for a return to the country’s top level league and Strasser became one of their latest recruit.
"I wanted to experience something different, something new and something different from Italy, " the midfielder said and added: " There were lot of other clubs in Italy who came knocking but I was not interested, I'm here because I want to help both Zagreb as well as myself. "
The former FC Kallon midfielder failed to live up to expectations during his stay with AC Milan despite his outstanding performance at the Milan youth system.
In his five years spell with AC Milan; Strasser was shipped out on loan to Lecce during the 2011-12 seasons and in 2013 to Parma where he only made two appearances.
On 27 July 2013, the midfielder joined Genoa on a permanent deal for €3.5 million, as part of the deal that saw Kevin Constant move over to the San Siro in a co-ownership resolution in favor of the Milan club. Strasser was later loaned out to Serie B club, Reggina in August 2013.
He also had a spell with Livorno before joining the Croatian side, he was on loan to Lupa Castelli Romani in the Italian Pro League.
