Ports Authority has ended their six-year wait for a Gambian league title by winning the 2015/2016 season.
The ‘Ferry Boys’ as they are nicknamed wrapped up the title on the penultimate match of the season thanks to a 2-2 draw with Serrekunda United on Sunday, 22 May 2016 in Kotu. Their previous titles were in 1984, 1986, 1999, 2006 and 2010

The stalemate took Port Authority’s tally to 42 points from 21 matches, four more than nearest challengers Brikama United, who played out a barren draw against cross town rivals Bombada at the Box Bar Mini Stadium.
The curtains for the 12-club league will be drawn at the weekend with the final round of matches.
Champions-elect Port GPA will receive GMD 300,000 (about 6,900 US Dollars) for the feat and a ticket to represent Gambia in next year’s CAF Champions League.
