Former African champions, Esperance will face debutants MO Bejaia of Algeria whilst Ahli Tripoli of Libya will be up against Misr Makkassa of Egypt.
The draws also pit two former winners against each other, Stade Malien (2009) and FUS Rabat (2010); meaning one of them will miss out on the opportunity for a second title.
DR Congo giants, TP Mazembe will face yet another North African opposition in Stade Gabesien of Tunisia whilst South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns battles Medeama of Ghana.
The ceremony held on Thursday, 21 April 2016 at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo was conducted by CAF Secretary General Hicham El Amrani and assisted by Hazem Hawary, member of the CAF Interclubs Committee.
